COVID-19 continues to be a concern in our community, and it has changed the shape of how we've conducted our lives and businesses this past year. As a small non-profit, we understand that this is a time of uncertainty for many people. However, this is also an opportunity for us to reaffirm our commitment to wellness and healthy communities. We aim to embrace this opportunity (with your support) hoping that we will emerge from this ongoing pandemic stronger, together.
We have and will continue to use CDC and local guidelines to inform our events moving forward.
Here's our plan for the HERO House 5k in 2021:
FOR 2021, VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE
While the situation is still evolving, our events are still scheduled as follows:
HERO House 5K Virtual Option (October 2nd – October 10th)
HERO House 5K In-Person (Sunday, October 10th)
The in-person event on October 10th will be implementing wave starts to avoid large crowds of participants.
Since the event will be outdoors, masks are not required. But they are recommended in instances where it is more difficult to maintain physical distance between non-household members.
As an organization, we are proud to have been with this community since 2005. We are grateful for your support, and we look forward to seeing what we all can accomplish despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
About the Event
This certified 5K route is an "out and back", starting next to Redmond City Hall in their Municipal Campus Park and immediately joining the Sammamish River Trail heading north. The scenic route takes runners and walkers up to around the 11100 block before turning around to finish at Municipal Campus Park. This is a flat fast route that will lend itself to fast paces and quick times! Click here for a course map: Course Map
