About Us

Hope. Empowerment. Relationships. Opportunity.

What is HERO House NW?

HERO House NW is the administrative and advocacy organization for four Clubhouses across Washington State. We were formed in response to the growing need for more Clubhouse communities—places where adults living with serious mental illness can belong, contribute, and thrive.

By leveraging shared resources and economies of scale, we strengthen sustainability, support growth, and advance our vision of a Washington State where Clubhouses don’t just survive, but truly thrive.

Our Mission

Mission, Vision & Values

Our mission is to champion mental health recovery and awareness by facilitating Clubhouse expansion.

We envision a world where people living with serious mental illness thrive. We bring this vision to life through the following values:

Belonging & Membership
We believe everyone deserves a place to belong. Membership is free, voluntary, and open to all adults living with serious mental illness, grounded in dignity, respect, and inclusion.

Community & Shared Work
We value community built through meaningful contribution. Members and staff work side by side in a work-ordered day that sustains our Clubhouses, builds skills, and strengthens connection and purpose.

Member Choice & Strengths
We honor member choice and focus on strengths rather than diagnoses. Participation is self-directed, and opportunities for growth are shaped by members’ interests, goals, and abilities.

Equity & Access
We are committed to reducing barriers for low- to moderate-income individuals by ensuring access to affordable meals, basic needs support, and pathways to employment, housing, and education.

Recovery & Opportunity
We believe recovery is possible for everyone. Our Clubhouses create opportunities for learning, leadership, and meaningful roles that support long-term stability and hope.

Sustainability & Advocacy
We value collaboration, shared resources, and systems-level advocacy to ensure Clubhouse communities across Washington State not only survive, but thrive.
